About Lomi Lomi Massages

One of the popular courses at Royal Kaila is the Lomi Lomi massage, which combines optimal strength with Aveda's great massage oils. This article will discuss the Lomi Lomi technique in more detail.

What is Lomi Lomi?

Lomi Lomi means "massage" in Hawaiian and is the traditional healing technique there. Unlike Shiatsu style, which uses the fingertips, Lomi Lomi is done using the palm of the hand as well as the whole arm.

The main characteristic is how massaging is done based on flow of the waves and the wind. The aim of this method is to relax the muscles using rhythmic movement and to improve the flow of one's lymph. Traditionally, it was only handed down through the clergy's family line as a way to practice healing.

Currently, Lomi Lomi is practiced at many spas over the world.

Effects of Lomi Lomi

Lomi Lomi has many positive effects on the body. Some areas that can be affected include:

-Neck and shoulder stiffness
-Chills and swelling
-Mental and physical fatigue
-Jet lag
-Stress relief
-Chronic headaches
-Metabolism
-Strengthening of the immune system

The healing effects of Lomi Lomi focus on improving blood flow and lymph to help normalize the functions of the body. In addition to that, one will experience relaxation as it helps relieve stress.

If one continues using it long term, it can help boost one's immune system making one less susceptible to disease.

Finally, if you have any problems with jet lag or swelling, it's recommended to give it a try when you visit Hawaii.

If you continue to receive it in the long term, your immune system will rise and you will be transformed into a constitution that is less susceptible to disease. Also, Lomi Lomi Massage will eliminate jet lag and swelling, so we recommend you practice it when you visit Hawaii Travel.

Treatment Methods

Lomi Lomi has some unique rhythmical techniques, but has adopted several other techniques including the Swedish Effleurage and Petrissage used in combination with traditional treatments.

⚫Stroke
This method is done by applying pressure along the body using the palm or elbow to a large area instead of the fingertips.

⚫Wiggly Wiggly
Similar to stroke the palm and elbows are used, but are shaken left and right during treatment.

⚫Aluna Press
This method is done using the softer part of the forearm to exert strong pressure.

⚫Aluna Effleurage
The symbolic technique of Lomi Lomi. This method acquaints the whole body with oils while using the softer part of the forearm.

⚫Lomi Lomi Hula
This method is done using both forearms on the back in an alternating fashion to loosen up the muscles.

⚫Double Elbow
This method is done with both forearms and stimulates the body by sliding with light weight.
